WWKIP This Thursday!

Remember BLKG is celebrating World Wide Knit in Public Day at our Knit in the Park meeting this coming Thursday, June 12, so be sure to grab a chair and come join us in Jackson Square Park across the street from our usual meeting site.  (If it's rainy we'll be back in the regular spot so don't stay home if it's drizzling.)  Also remember that Monroe Ave. is closed for repairs until October so plan your route around that.

**Thursday would also be a great time to let Andy know that you want to learn how to Knit with Wire at the July meeting.

I've heard tell of more "sit & knit" opportunities around town:

East Branch of the Brown County Library hosts an afternoon knitting/crocheting group--
Wednesdays, Jun 25, Jul 30, Aug 27 1 pm
Nifty Knitters Come to knit or crochet and enjoy socializing with fellow knitters and crocheters. All ages and experience levels welcome.  Call 391-4600 for more information.

Ashwaubenon Branch opens its doors to knitters & crocheters in the evening--
 Wednesdays: Jun 25, Jul 30, Aug 27 6:00 pm
Common Threads Knit and Crochet Learn the basics or bring a project to work on and "show-and-tell". Call 492-4913 for more information.

and the Weyers-Hilliard Branch in Howard welcomes stitchers of all types in the morning--
Thursdays:  Jun 5, Jul 3, Aug 7 10:00 am
Stitch-In Bring your needlework, yarn, needles or hooks for an opportunity to meet and create by the fireplace.  Call 448-4405 for more information.

(Info gleaned from the BCL Adult Events Calendar June-Aug 2014; link over and see what else they have for grownups.  I'm signing up for the Adult Summer Reading Program.  There's prizes!)

Here's another cool thing at the Pulaski Branch:
Mondays: Jun 2, Jul 7, Aug 4 5:00-6:00 pm
Make Friends with your eReader Library staff will guide you through downloading eBooks from OverDrive to your Kindle or Nook. All ages welcome!

(I know this has nothing whatsoever to do with knitting but I absolutely love downloading audiobooks to my Kindle and iPod to listen to while I knit so I thought this might be a way for you to knit and listen too if you have a Kindle or Nook.  It's free, all you need is a library card, besides these programs represent your tax dollars at work, we should take advantage of them or we'll lose them.  end of soapbox rant.)
